It Takes Power to Run an Awesome Backyard… So Your Tool Shed Needs Some Power Tools! |
The very first garden plot I plowed up I did by shovel and rake. It was a long tedious job. And, although I got it done and probably lost a few inches and pounds doing it, a power tiller would have made the job a lot easier and a lot faster.
I was living in South Florida at the time, and the dirt was more like sugar sand than soil for a garden. That’s when I plunged into organic gardening, adding much humus to the plot of ground I would call my "vegetable garden".
I‘m short and I have a hard time reaching over the bushes and trimming hedges, although I’ve been doing it most of my life… first as a 12-year-old (no brothers!).
Manual hedge clippers are hard on my forearms and shoulders so, as an adult I invested in a power hedge clipper. Unfortunately, I had it plugged into a green outdoor extension cord one day while trimming some bushes. I accidentally cut the cord.
Thereafter, I opted for a CORDLESS model! Besides, it reaches further into the backyard.
I will tell you, also, that a blower is a must to keep the leaves off the grass, away from the statuary, and to maintain a nice garden path.
If you’re a serious gardener, or plan to be one, I highly recommend some quality power tools (see some below) to last season, after season, after season.
