I never had an outdoor playhouse when I was a child like the fancy little houses that are made for kids today. But, I always wanted a place of my own, outside of the main house.

I can remember taking my dolls outside, surrounding myself with bushes, and then spreading blankets down for an imaginary floor.

Boys had forts and clubhouses and tree houses, but little girls were "not allowed". And so, the dollhouse was taken to a different level.
