Need An Outdoor Furniture Patio Set?
|
Enhance your home with an outdoor patio set which come in many variations of wrought iron, aluminum, wood, rattan, plastic, etc.
The great benefit of having a patio is its entertaining value. You can find a patio set that’s just right for your decor and a blend of your personality.
My own patio set is wooden because it matches my built-in bench seats on my deck.
When considering a patio set for your outdoor living, consider maintenance and long-term wear.
Plastic, although cheap, will fade quickly and can crack or break more easily under stress. And, because they are lightweight, plaster patio sets may turn over in harsh weather or blow away in hard wind.
Wood will weather or will requiring painting year after year. Hardwoods last longer than soft pine. Wood patio sets are stylish and blend in with a wooded lot (which is why I have a wooden set).
Rattan and wicker patio sets are very Southern in their style. When I was a child, we had wicker and it was difficult to keep it clean or to paint due to the abundance of reeds and crevices. Most wicker patio sets are accented with designer printed weatherproof cushions.
Aluminum patio sets can be lightweight and easy to move around. However, aluminum furniture will rust and discolor easily, making them less attractive over the years.
By far, the best patio set for endurance and wear is wrought iron. I have a wrought iron glider in a path in my woods. It’s been out there for years, and the only thing that looks worn is the head-rest pillow I attached to the back.
Wrought iron is heavy and can withstand harsh winds, rain, and other weather that can move lighter pieces of furniture all around your yard causing damage.
Overall, wrought iron patio and garden furniture is the best value for looks and endurance.
