BackyardRegard.com was created by Gail Gupton, a grandmother of eleven. From childhood she's had a fascination for the outdoor, backyard experience. She used to create imaginative rooms among the Australian pine tree saplings around her home in South Florida and spent hours there with dolls and friends. Other times would find her walking barefoot among the dense soft clover on one section of the 20 acres of land owned by her parents.

She's lived in Maryland, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia; and in each place has enjoyed the fruits of labor in her backyard, whether it be  organic gardening with flowers and vegetables or creating a play area for a child.

One day she was walking around in her backyard and realized how much she enjoyed it. During that same realization, she came to know others who felt the same way and decided to create this web site to make the Internet world aware of the vast and wonderful opportunities to create a backyard haven for themselves.
